Hotel Best Promotion for Earning [Americas] Starwood Preferred Guest

Finishing in the top four are Starwood Preferred Guest, Marriott Rewards, Hilton HHonors and Choice Privileges.

“SPG wins again! We kind of like getting resort nights for free,” says Randy.

“Thanks again, thank you.”

SPG wins this category with its SPG Getaway Free promotion. Free nights, in addition to the regular points earned, are always popular. For every three stays at an SPG hotel, members earned a night at a resort. Tying the free night to a strong portfolio of aspirational properties was a clear winner with members. And a free night every three stays was SPG’s most lucrative promotion in 2011.

Hotel Best Promotion for Earning [Middle East / Asia / Oceania] Accor A|Club

Accor A|Club, Starwood Preferred Guest, IHG Priority Club Rewards and Marriott Rewards take the final four spots.

“This promotion is pretty cool,” explains Randy. “The cash was donated to flood relief.”

“Thank you very much,” says Emilie Record, Le Club Accorhotels Marketing Executive, who comes up to accept the award.

By staying in an Accor hotel in Thailand, A|Club members earned double points and the points were converted to cash and donated to a special flood relief fund established by the Yim Kids Thailand Foundation.

Hotel Best Promotion for Earning [Europe / Africa] Starwood Preferred Guest

No strangers to the top four slots, Starwood Preferred Guest, Marriott Rewards, IHG Priority Club Rewards and Accor A|Club finish at the top.

“Anyone here from Starwood?” Randy asks.

Stephanie Meltzer-Paul, Director – Global Loyalty Marketing, accepts the Freddie Award.

Bravo! SPG does it again. Another Freddie Award is won because of the popularity of their SPG Getaway Free promotion. Points are great. Free nights are better. And free nights in a resort—even better!

We don’t need no (more) stinking badges!

Needless to say, the largest Freddies ever require the largest number of Freddie name badges ever.

Organizing the badges is an event in itself. No fewer than four staff members worked to assemble the badges and make sure everyone who has a name has a badge. Now, whether everyone who has a badge actually has a seat is still up in the air, as the ballroom is busting at the seams.

This might be the first Standing Room Only Freddies.
