How does it work?
Representing the Voice of the Frequent Flyer
The Freddie Awards represent excellence in travel loyalty programs worldwide, rating the best frequent flyer and frequent guest programs. The Freddie Awards are voted on by frequent travelers worldwide, allowing them to rank airline and hotel programs from their point of view. The merits of what each program offers will determine the winners.
Eligibility
The Freddie Awards are open to all travel loyalty programs worldwide, including airlines, hotels, and credit card programs.
-
- The travel loyalty program uses currency such as miles, points, or credit in a frequent flyer program or hotel guest program.
- Credit card programs should have at least one redemption relationship with a frequent flyer program OR hotel guest program.
- Programs that have won Freddie Awards in the past are always eligible for the current balloting year.
- There is no limit to the number of Freddie Awards a program may win.
Judging Process
Collecting of Applications – Establishing Nominees and Special Honorees
A “Call for Entry” is performed to establish the Freddie Awards nominees. Entrants can register to be nominated in any category including the option to enter a promotion for Best Promotion. The editorial staff of InsideFlyer magazine and the Freddie Award Committee participates in submitting nominations for Best Promotion when deemed appropriate.
Freddie Award Special Honorees are selected by the Freddie Award Committee. These individuals are those who display extraordinary influence on the direction of travel loyalty programs throughout the year. The Freddie Awards takes pride in identifying and honoring those who have made significant contributions on the industry.
Voting Period
Voting takes place between February 15 to March 31 annually. The rigorous process to win a coveted Freddie Award is entirely based on the voice of the frequent flyer / road warrior who casts a ballot and determines which programs they feel provide the best value and services throughout the year. All ballots undergo a robust, technical audit to determine their validity.
Voters are able to cast a ballot for their favorite travel loyalty program in one of three geographical regions and in nine different languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Italian, Korean and Arabic.
