TAM Fidelidade wins in this category with an impressive value score of 9.57—the highest value score of any Freddie Award category. With a number like that, it looks like members are not finding too much difficulty getting the awards they want when they’re ready to spend their miles. Members report they are most happy with the easy and good value award redemptions within South America.

Etihad Guest pioneered the “one mile” strategy for award redemption with its online slider tool and with this win, that flexibility of choosing your award amounts by combining cash and miles looks to be popular with members.

Marriott Rewards wins in this all-important category. Marriott has plenty of properties, in locations where their members want to stay, and they’ve made real strides over the past few years in making the bulk of their rooms available for points. Not an easy task and members have taken notice.

Starwood pioneered making all standard rooms available for points, and other hotel programs have followed their lead. With this Freddie Award, SPG is being rewarded for changing the industry standard and making it much easier to get room nights with SPG points.
