Aeroplan remembers the point of points
Best Redemption Ability — Airlines, Americas · Air Canada Aeroplan
Here’s a radical loyalty-program concept:
Members should be able to use their miles.
Aeroplan wins Best Redemption Ability in the Americas for 2026.
Again.
Among all Freddie categories, redemption may be the one that most quickly separates marketing from reality.
Programs can issue billions of points.
Credit cards can manufacture billions more.
Eventually someone wants Tokyo.
Or Paris.
Or Grandma’s house.
Aeroplan’s great advantage is reach. Air Canada’s Star Alliance membership and Aeroplan’s additional partnerships give members access to an unusually broad universe of airlines.
That means an Aeroplan point isn’t merely an Air Canada point.
It might become Lufthansa.
United.
Singapore.
ANA.
Or something considerably more interesting discovered during a midnight award search.
There are sophisticated debates about Aeroplan’s pricing.
Of course there are.
This is frequent flyer loyalty.
But the members answered the simpler question.
Can I actually use these things?
Yes.
Freddie awarded.
