Representing the voice of the frequent flyer.

The Freddie Awards rate the best frequent flyer and frequent guest programs in the world. Members do the voting; the merits of what each program offers determine the winners.

Eligibility

The Freddies are open to all travel loyalty programs worldwide — airlines, hotels and credit cards.

  • The program uses a currency such as miles, points or credit in a frequent flyer or frequent guest program.
  • Credit card programs must hold at least one redemption relationship with an airline or hotel loyalty program.
  • Programs that have won a Freddie in the past are always eligible in the current balloting year.
  • There is no limit to the number of Freddie Awards a program may win.

Judging process

A Call for Entry establishes the nominees. Programs may enter any category, including submitting a promotion for Best Promotion; the editorial staff of InsideFlyer and the Freddie Award Committee also nominate where appropriate.

Special Honorees are selected by the Freddie Award Committee — individuals whose influence has shaped the direction of travel loyalty over the year.

Voting runs February 15 to March 31 annually. Every ballot undergoes a robust technical audit. Voters choose one of three geographic regions and can vote in nine languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Italian, Korean and Arabic.

Disclosure

We acknowledge the excellence of technology but are also aware of its potential conflicts, and we take those conflicts seriously. The Freddie Awards Committee and staff do not select the winners or influence the balloting in any way. Nominees are determined by the industry to be listed on the ballot; the winners are entirely in the hands of travel loyalty program members worldwide, voting through an independent process.
