2025 Freddie Awards: After a Year Away, Loyalty Had Plenty to Say

The Freddie Awards have always had an interesting relationship with time.

Programs come and go. Names change. Airlines merge. Hotel chains acquire other hotel chains. Points that were once worth one thing mysteriously become worth something else—usually shortly after someone uses the word “enhancement.”

And occasionally even the Freddies take a year off.

There were no Freddie Awards in 2024.

So when the 33rd Freddie Awards returned in 2025 at the Chicago Athletic Association, the voters had two years’ worth of opinions stored up.

They used them.

Aeroplan continued one of loyalty’s better comeback stories.

Caesars proved its 2022 near-miss was no accident.

Norwegian showed Europe that size isn’t everything.

ALL – Accor Live Limitless won Program of the Year on two continents.

GarudaMiles emerged as a force in Asia.

And Air India’s newly minted Maharaja Club appeared on the Freddie radar almost immediately.

The 2025 results weren’t simply about who was good.

They provided an unusually good preview of what would happen next.

Here are the stories behind the winners.
