AAdvantage points still know how to travel

Best Redemption Ability — Airlines, Americas · American Airlines AAdvantage

AAdvantage wins Best Redemption Ability.

Which brings us back to the original point of frequent flyer miles.

Flying.

It’s remarkably easy to forget.

The modern loyalty industry can earn miles through dining, shopping, credit cards, mortgages, flowers and activities having only a distant acquaintance with aviation.

Eventually somebody would like an airplane seat.

AAdvantage’s continuing appeal includes American’s own network and its oneworld and other airline partners.

That gives knowledgeable members options.

And options matter because award travel rarely behaves exactly as the vacation calendar would prefer.

You search American.

Then British Airways.

Then Qatar.

Then Japan Airlines.

Then discover you’re apparently spending Thursday night somewhere you had not previously considered visiting.

This is called “award planning.”

Or “fun,” depending upon how long you’ve been doing it.

Freddie voters said AAdvantage did redemption best in the Americas in 2025.

Miles earned.

Seats found.

Mission accomplished.
