Air France and KLM operate one of Europe’s great joint loyalty ecosystems, and elite status must function across a network vastly larger than either airline alone.

That’s where the difficulty starts.

Status promises are easy to write.

Recognition has to travel.

Paris.

Amsterdam.

Partners.

Lounges.

Priority lanes.

Baggage systems.

Different airports.

Different people.

Different computers.

An elite member doesn’t particularly care which corporate entity owns the problem.

They care that the SkyPriority sign works.

Freddie voters said Flying Blue delivered.

This win also foreshadowed something.

One year later, Flying Blue would take four major airline Freddies in the region.

In retrospect, 2025 wasn’t the destination.

It was boarding.
